User agreement

By using Specialty Coffee Map you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

They apply to everyone:

visitors browsing the map
signed-in users
coffee shop owners who claim their venue
anyone who contributes listings, photos or corrections

Code of conduct

When using the site, you agree to:

give accurate and truthful information
respect other users
not use the site for harmful, abusive or illegal activity
not send spam or malicious content
not interfere with how the service runs

Welcome

Honest reviews and experiences
Constructive feedback
Reporting inaccurate information
Adding coffee shops we have missed

Not welcome

Harassment or abusive language
False or misleading information
Impersonating someone else
Submitting venues you have no connection to as their owner

Breaking these rules may cost you access to the site.

Content

Everything submitted to the site — listings, photos, corrections and reviews — is subject to these terms.

Who owns what you submit

You keep ownership of what you create and submit. By submitting it you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt and publish that content in order to display it on the map and run the service.

Only submit photos and text you have the right to submit.

We may remove content that:

breaks these rules
infringes someone's intellectual property
is illegal, harmful or offensive
is fraudulent or misleading
impersonates another person or business

If you spot something that should not be there, tell us and we will look at it.

Accounts

Some features — adding a coffee shop, claiming one, managing your listings — require signing in. Signing in works through Telegram, so there is no password to set and none for us to store.

You are responsible for what happens under your account
Give accurate information when you add or claim a venue
Do not claim a business you do not represent
We may suspend accounts that break these terms

Lost access? If you think someone else has got into your Telegram account, secure it in Telegram first, then write to us.

You can ask us to delete your account at any time. Some records may be kept where the law requires it.

Limits of liability

Specialty Coffee Map is a hobby project provided as is, without warranties of any kind.

About the listings

We select coffee shops using open data, community recommendations and our own criteria — but we do not visit every venue, and details such as opening hours, prices and menus change constantly.

Please treat the information here as a helpful guide, not a guarantee. Check with the venue before making a trip.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:

indirect or consequential damages
service interruptions or errors
the accuracy of coffee shop information or user submissions
the conduct of other users, of venues, or of third parties

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as the site changes. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, post a notice on the site.

Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
