What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. They let a site tell one visitor from another between page loads — for example, to keep you signed in.

Alongside cookies, this site uses your browser's local storage, which works the same way but keeps data until you clear it or sign out.

How we use them

There are only two reasons:

To keep the site working: remembering that you are signed in, and whether you prefer the light or dark theme.
To count visits: understanding, in aggregate, which pages people open. Nothing here is used to target advertising.

What is actually stored

Sign-in dataYour Telegram account data, kept in local storage so you stay signed in. Removed when you sign out.

Theme preferenceWhether you chose the light or the dark theme.

Map positionThe last place and zoom level you looked at, so the map opens there next time.

Analytics cookiesSet by Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and PostHog on specialtycoffeemap.com. Our Russian site uses Yandex Metrica instead and loads none of these.

We set no advertising or retargeting cookies.

Managing them

Every browser lets you view, delete and block cookies. Blocking analytics cookies changes nothing about how the map works; blocking all cookies and local storage will sign you out.

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Signing out of the site clears the sign-in data we keep in your browser.

Changes to this policy

If we start using something we do not use today, we will describe it here and update the date at the top of this page.
